Are you a tech-savvy problem solver with a love for sleek, accessible web applications? Do you enjoy leading by example and working with a talented team to create amazing digital experiences? If so, Pets is the place for you!

We’re looking for a Lead Frontend Developer to help shape the future of our web applications. This role is all about building, leading, and innovating in a collaborative and fun environment where your skills and ideas matter.

What You'll Do

1. Consistently produce high-quality code that is maintainable and solves real-world problems
2. Lead, guide, and grow our frontend developers into frontend experts
3. Develop, maintain, and optimize web applications using Next.js, TypeScript, React, and CSS
4. Implement accessible UI components with Storybook and ensure designs from Figma are accurately realized
5. Write new and maintain existing automation tests using Playwright
6. Lead projects from requirements to architectural design to implementation to testing and production
7. Participate in on-call support rotation
8. Promote code quality through code reviews and quality feedback

What You’ll Bring to the Team

1. Experience: 4+ years in a Senior/ Lead role, and you know the ropes of software development like the back of your hand (git, code reviews, CI/CD—you name it).
2. Frontend Expertise: A track record of delivering accessible, large-scale frontend projects with Next.js, TypeScript, React, CSS, or similar tools.
3. Communication Superpowers: You can lead technical discussions and make complex ideas easy to understand.
4. API Know-How: Solid understanding of REST APIs, influencing their design and implementation like a boss.
5. Cloud Confidence: Experience with Azure or other cloud platforms.
6. Automation Enthusiast: A “test-first” mindset when building new features.

Why Join Pets?

1. Innovative Culture: We thrive on creativity, teamwork, and pushing the boundaries of tech.
2. Growth Opportunities: Level up your skills while mentoring others in a supportive, learning-driven environment.
3. Impactful Work: Be part of a mission that makes life better for pets and their humans.
4. Flexible and Inclusive: We’re committed to making work for everyone.

Ready to lead, innovate, and make an impact? Apply now and let’s build something pawsome together!

A few things to note

1. We can't offer visa sponsorship or relocation support for this role.

Pets just see people. They aren’t biased and they don’t discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!

Please note that we may close applications for this role early.
