Role Description:
Margaret Roper House is a residential facility dedicated to providing nursing care for individuals with persistent mental health challenges and various forms of dementia. The cook's primary responsibilities include preparing a diverse range of meals and catering for dedicated events, as well as managing kitchen inventory and ensuring its security at the end of each shift. This role requires collaboration with senior staff and residents to develop menus, ensuring that meals are prepared to a high standard and served promptly. Additionally, the cook is responsible for maintaining accurate records of all menus provided to the residents.
Experience & Skills:
* Qualifications (Desirable); City & Guilds Certificate in Cookery & Food hygiene certificate.
* To have worked in a large kitchen environment
* Basic cooking skills for an establishment of up to thirty people
* Ability to deal sensitively with the resident client group.
* Ability to cater for specialist diets.
* To maintain a close working relationship with other members of the staff team
* To respond flexibly to changing needs
