Job Title: Frontend Developer Rate: £400 (Inside IR35) Duration: 12 Months Clearance: BPSS Location: Remote with 1 Day onsite in either (Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Blackpool, Glasgow or Cardiff) Key Responsibilities Develop, enhance, and maintain digital services using Node.js, Nunjucks, and React within DWP standards and architecture. Collaborate with designers, product managers, user researchers, and other engineers in an agile environment. Build reusable components and libraries, ensuring maintainable and scalable codebases. Integrate APIs and microservices, focusing on performance, security, and accessibility. Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and continuous improvement activities. Contribute to technical design discussions and solution architecture as needed. Ensure compliance with Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.1 AA). Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to wider teams. Essential Skills & Experience Strong commercial experience with Node.js (Back End services and API development). Proficiency with Nunjucks for templating and Server Side rendering. Solid experience developing modern Front End applications using React. Knowledge of RESTful API design and integration. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Understanding of security best practices, testing approaches, and CI/CD workflows. Ability to work effectively on-site with multi-disciplinary teams.
