Job description
As a Data & Automation Developer, you will play a key role within the Business Systems team, supporting the delivery of high-quality management information, KPI reporting, workflow automation and collaborative business solutions across the Group.
You will take ownership of the end-to-end lifecycle of reporting and automation solutions, from data extraction and modelling through to dashboard development, deployment and ongoing enhancement. This role will help drive the move from static reporting towards scalable, trusted and self-service insight across the business.
What you’ll be doing
* Designing, building and maintaining high-quality KPI dashboards and management reports using Power BI
* Working with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into effective data models and visualisations
* Developing and maintaining robust data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) processes across multiple systems
* Designing and optimising scalable, reliable and performant data models
* Improving report usability, performance and visual design to support adoption
* Supporting the move toward self-service analytics through reusable datasets and reporting standards
* Supporting and enhancing SharePoint Online sites, lists and libraries to improve collaboration and governance
* Designing, building and maintaining Power Automate workflows to reduce manual effort and improve process consistency
* Monitoring, troubleshooting and continuously improving reporting and automation solutionsProducing appropriate documentation including technical specifications and user guidance
* Engaging with stakeholders across business and shared services functions to gather requirements and prioritise demand
* Explaining technical solutions clearly to non-technical audiences
* Ensuring solutions are secure, well-structured and aligned to governance standards
* Participating in team meetings, briefings and relevant training
* Ensuring compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental policies
* Carrying out any other duties as reasonably required
Who we’re looking for
Ideally, you’ll be degree qualified in a relevant discipline such as Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics or similar — or have equivalent practical experience.
You must have proven experience developing Power BI reports, dashboards and data models, alongside strong ETL and SQL skills. A solid understanding of data modelling principles, including relationships, performance optimisation and data quality, is essential.
Experience using Power Automate to develop workflow automations and working with SharePoint Online (lists, libraries and site structures) is required. You should also have experience engaging directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements and refine solutions.
We’re looking for someone with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, who can manage multiple priorities and communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical audiences. You should have a practical, delivery‑focused mindset with strong organisational and documentation skills.
Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment would be advantageous, particularly exposure to ERP data such as IFS. Familiarity with wider Microsoft 365 tooling, data warehousing or Azure data services would also be beneficial.
You must be able to work both independently and as part of a team, remain flexible to meet business needs and demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset.
This position will be on a full time, permanent basis. The hours of work are 35 per week, Monday to Friday.
A full UK driving licence is essential.
