Learning Mentors required for flexible work on a temporary basis in Wigan from September 2024.
The school are seeking to appoint a number of Learning Mentors to cover temporary gaps across the support team within their Secondary school.
To be considered for this role you must have relevant experience working alongside young people, and have the capability to support them in a number of different subjects to enhance there learning. You must have a high knowledge of student safeguarding and show this throughout your time in school.

Although this is a temporary placement in the first instance there will be an opportunity to gain permanent employment in the future dependent on funding.
You will have a number of responsibilities and expectations during your time in school and it is expected that you are able to perform each one accordingly.
* Motivation to work with young people.
* Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with young people in your care.
* Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours and attitudes with all levels of learners.
* Flexibility to implement agreed learning activities/teaching in a range of subjects across the school board.
* Promote and safeguard the welfare of young people you are responsible for or come into contact with.
The school is larger than the average secondary school with around 1300 pupils currently on roll. This is Roman Catholic school where Senior Leaders ensure that Behaviour is outstanding and students feel extremely within the school. The students on roll show respect for adults and for each other and their highly conscientious attitudes to learning are an important factor in their achievement. The school is located on the outskirts of Wigan bordering Salford which makes for easy access from surrounding areas; St Helens, Warrington, Leigh and Chorley.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
