HR Manager

TechNET has partnered with a fast-growing sustainable energy business operating across the UK and Northern Europe to appoint an HR Manager for their Glasgow office.
This organisation plays a critical role in the energy transition, delivering district energy, renewable heat and industrial energy solutions across the UK. Backed by long-term investors and experiencing rapid portfolio growth, the business is now strengthening its people leadership capability in the UK.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this is a hands-on and influential HR leadership role with full UK remit. You will shape and deliver a people agenda that supports growth, embeds values, and builds a high-trust, high-performance culture within a lean, agile infrastructure business.
The role blends strategic HR leadership with operational ownership, acting as the internal authority on UK HR while working closely with an outsourced HR partner.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and own HR across the UK, ensuring compliance with UK employment law and scalable people practices
Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and line managers on employee relations, HR governance and policy
Manage and optimise the relationship with an outsourced HR provider, holding accountability internally
Shape and deliver UK HR strategy aligned to business growth, workforce planning and change activity
Embed company values into the employee experience, from onboarding through to performance and engagement
Drive continuous improvement across HR systems, processes and reporting
Lead internal communications, engagement initiatives and cultural programmes
Oversee office operations and workplace experience, supporting office moves or growth where required
Provide clear people metrics and insight for leadership and board reporting
About You
4–8 years' HR experience with strong knowledge of UK employment law
Experience working in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments
Proven ability to advise senior stakeholders with confidence and credibility
Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery
Experience managing third-party HR providers or shared service models
Strong communicator with a pragmatic, solution-led mindset
Exposure to transformation activity, TUPE or change programmes is advantageous
