We are working with a well-established digital and API integration specialist based in Darlington, supporting national and international clients on complex, enterprise-level projects.

The Role
As a Back End Developer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable back-end systems, primarily using PHP and Laravel. You’ll work closely with other developers to deliver high-quality solutions, optimise performance, and support API-driven integrations.
Key responsibilities include:
* Developing and maintaining back-end applications using Laravel
* Building reusable, scalable, and efficient code
* Optimising applications for performance and reliability
* Consuming and integrating with APIs
* Working collaboratively within a development team
* Supporting the interaction between front-end and back-end systems
* Contributing to system architecture and technical decisions
Required Skills & Experience
* Strong commercial experience as a Back End Developer
* Proven experience with PHP, OOP, and Laravel
* Experience working with MySQL
* Familiarity with Git and version control
* Command line experience
* Experience consuming APIs
* Knowledge of CSS frameworks
* Experience with jQuery
* Awareness or experience with Vue, React, or Tailwind
* Understanding of system architecture
