Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Falkirk, is currently looking to recruit a Catering Manager for an initial 6-month contract with potential to extend on a rate of £18.96/hour PAYE.
This role will be across various sites around Falkirk.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the running of the Catering Department and ensure all events are set up in accordance with the booker’s requirements.
2. Ensure the catering department is fully resourced, including staffing, and that all processes and procedures are adhered to by staff.
3. Manage the Catering department and catering rotas.
4. Liaise with department heads to ensure rooms are set in accordance with booker's requirements.
5. Monitor and maintain Health and Safety regulations to ensure a safe, clean working environment and compliance with industry standards.
6. Ensure the department operates in accordance with the conditions of the premises license.
7. Manage stock control and place orders as necessary.
8. Implement and monitor catering cleaning standards.
9. Plan and organise workload effectively.
10. Contribute to the development of plans and strategies.
11. Handle conflicting priorities and deadlines.
12. Manage a budget.
13. Communicate effectively with colleagues and others.
14. Maintain excellent written and verbal communication skills.
15. Ensure adherence to regulations and organisational policies.
16. Handle and process information responsibly.
17. Maintain stock control within the designated area.
18. Work safely and follow procedures.
19. Promote a positive health and safety culture and comply with the organisation's Health and Safety Policy.
20. Take care of own health and safety and that of others at work.
21. Possess basic numeracy and literacy skills.
22. Hold an HND in Hospitality Management or equivalent.
23. Demonstrate organisational and problem-solving skills.
24. Have significant experience, including working as part of a team and managing a team.
25. Be familiar with relevant legislation.
26. Possess basic computer literacy.
27. Have previous catering and supervisory experience, including in events and/or hospitality catering.
28. Hold a Certificate in Food Hygiene or equivalent.
29. Have analytical skills and experience with current Health and Safety regulations.
30. Experience using MS Office packages.
31. Experience managing a budget and multi-disciplinary teams.
32. Experience working in a conference setting.
33. Gaelic language skills are desirable.
