Overview of the role

As HR Manager you will be the first point of contact for managers and employees within Elmbridge providing support and solving problems. You will provide generalist HR support throughout the employee lifecycle: recruitment, compensation and benefits, learning and development, employee engagement, performance management and employee relations, communications and administration. This is a part-time position working 25 hours per week.


Key Responsibilities

* Provide an effective employee relations support to line managers to enable a productive, engaged and inspired team; to include supporting investigations, absence management, disciplinary and grievance guidance.
* Provide the necessary tools and coaching to managers in support of performance management and the development of high performing teams.
* Define and implement a training and development agenda; identify areas that need attention and improvement to support business growth.
* Provide guidance on development for managers and their teams and run leadership development training where required.
* Facilitate talent and succession planning, taking overall responsibility for resourcing and retention across the business.
* Work closely with the leadership team in determining the compensation and benefits offer and provide advice and support to line managers and employees on company benefits, remuneration issues and benchmark data.
* Proactively identify best practice to develop people initiatives, present recommendations to the Leadership team for approval, including spend and added value outcomes and lead project delivery.
* Provide training, support and coaching on processes and procedures, ensuring managers are updated on changes to employment legislation and best practice and the company is compliant.


HR Administration

* Carry out administration relating to starters, leavers and any changes to contracts of employment when required.
* Carry out exit interviews and provide guidance to managers.
* Carry out administration and maintenance of training records for all staff.
* Ensure security of personal data and maintain confidentiality on people related matters.
* Keep records up to date on the HR system including records related to grievances, performance reviews and disciplinary actions.
* Maintain and update job descriptions with the support of department managers.
* Compile and analyse key HR data and make recommendations for improvements.


Recruitment and Onboarding

* Create a recruitment strategy to include preferred recruitment suppliers, fee structure, direct recruitment methods and coordinate to ensure that time to fill is kept to a minimum and quality of hire is improved.
* Support managers with the recruitment of new staff – more specifically with arranging interviews, the creation of offer letters and contracts, completing the reference process, right to work checking and onboarding of new staff.
* Communicate details of new employees to appropriate colleagues to ensure facilities and equipment are readily available upon commencement of employment.


Key Requirements

* CIPD Qualified or equivalent.
* At least 2 years working at Senior HR Advisor level with potential to work at a more senior level.
* Up to date with employment legislation and upcoming changes.
* Ability to manage ER cases from disciplinary and grievance to redundancy.
* Confident in advising managers on all aspects of people management and development.
* Numerate and financially aware with the ability to produce reports and statistics as required combined with excellent presentation skills.
* Natural and credible influencer at all levels.
* Strong organisational and administrative skills.
* Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people within and outside of the organisation.
* Strong communication skills.
* Ability to meet deadlines.
* Accurate with a strong attention to detail.
* Problem solving and decision-making aptitude.
* Ability to use the full complement of Microsoft Office software.
