Site Quality Manager - Due to our continued growth and success we are looking for a Site Quality Manager to join our Technical team. The hours of work are Monday to Friday 08:00am to 17:00pm (hours can be flexible) and based at our bakeries on Wrexham Industrial Estate (LL13 9UG & LL13 9UZ).
As the Site Quality Manager, you will be passionate and driven and will take ownership of quality standards at site, ensuring the highest levels of food safety, compliance, integrity and quality.
As the site's M&S Quality Champion, you will be responsible for embedding a quality-first culture at the site, acting as the critical link between NPD and Production to ensure seamless product launches and continuous quality improvement

Key Responsibilities
Quality & Food Safety Management
* Training & Development – Promote a quality-focused culture by training and coaching teams on best practices in food safety and quality management.
* Lead and development of the Site QA team through training plans, management and performance reviews.
* Drive a culture of quality excellence, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards, and customer expectations
* M&S Quality Champion – Liaise with the Group Quality Manager on matters relating to the M&S quality standards, ensuring full adherence to customer expectations.
* Conduct quality risk assessments, identifying potential quality touchpoints and QCPs within the production process or raw materials
* NPD & Trials Support – Work closely with NPD teams to integrate quality at the early stages of product development, support pre-launches, first productions and post-launch reviews
* Support the generation of Quality contracts, Quality attribute documents and photographic line standards to ensure quality is embedded from the beginning and operational staff are trained and aware of the product quality expectations
* Conduct buy-back reviews to assist with complaints investigation and taste panel management
* Continuous Improvement – Identify and implement initiatives to enhance quality and process efficiency across the site.
* Audit & Compliance – Support the Technical Manager during site audits, customer visits, and regulatory inspections, ensuring all documentation and records meet required standards.
* Production Collaboration – Work closely with the production team to monitor product quality, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
* Data Analysis & Reporting – Utilise quality data to track performance, investigate issues, and drive improvements.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
* Maintain best practices in quality control, allergen management, and shelf-life optimisation.
* Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs), customer complaints, and quality assessments, ensuring continuous improvement through thorough root cause analysis.
* Support initiatives to enhance ingredient traceability, allergen controls, and labelling compliance.

Key Skills & Experience
* A strong background in food quality, food safety, or technical supervisory roles within the food industry.
* Experience working with retailer quality standards, particularly M&S
* Strong knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, and retailer-specific standards.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and engage teams.
* A problem-solver with a proactive approach to quality and continuous improvement
