Site Manager – ESD
Location: Perthshire
Galliford Try are looking for a proactive and experienced Site Manager to join our ESD Joint Venture, supporting delivery across the Scottish Water framework. If you’re passionate about driving safety, quality, and performance, we want to hear from you.
Ideally you will be based around the Central Belt of Scotland and willing to undertake some local travel in your role
What you will be doing:
As Site Manager, you’ll lead by example and take ownership of day-to-day site operations, ensuring successful delivery from start to finish. Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Championing a safety-first culture and upholding high-quality standards.
2. Coordinating and controlling on-site construction activities to meet programme and budget targets.
3. Supervising site operations, preparing and reviewing RAMS, delivering toolbox talks and briefings.
4. Ensuring timely procurement and delivery of plant and materials.
5. Verifying drawings and quantities to ensure accuracy and alignment with project plans.
6. Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
7. Supporting the implementation of our Customer Impact Plan and enhancing the reputation of ESD.
8. Applying and enforcing Galliford Try’s Business Management System (BMS).
9. Monitoring performance to meet safety, quality, and timeline objectives.
10. Identifying, reporting, and resolving any site non-conformities.
11. Proactively managing site costs and ensuring financial controls are in place.
12. Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
13. Taking on additional duties or training where required, in line with the role's level of responsibility.
About you:
We’re seeking someone with proven experience and the drive to deliver high-impact infrastructure work. Ideally, you’ll bring:
14. A qualification such as an HND or equivalent in construction, civil engineering, or project management.
15. Site management experience in construction/engineering, preferably within the water industry.
16. A track record of delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.
17. Safety qualifications: IOSH or SMSTS certification.
18. A valid CSCS card.
19. Strong IT proficiency and the ability to use digital tools for reporting and planning.
20. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
