Community Engagement Officer The Community Engagement Officer will work with landowners, local community groups, and individuals to promote the 3030 initiative and nature recovery within the Belfast Hills. The role will oversee events, volunteering activities, and engagement initiatives to foster environmental awareness and conservation. Additionally, the officer will liaise with landowners, communities, the PSNI, and other relevant bodies regarding wildlife crime and conservation issues. Key Responsibilities. Develop and implement community engagement initiatives to promote 3030 and nature recovery. Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, community groups, and individuals to encourage participation in conservation projects, foster environmental education and awareness. Organize and oversee public events, workshops, and volunteer activities focused on nature recovery and environmental stewardship. Provide support, training, and guidance to volunteers participating in conservation activities. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, including the PSNI, to address wildlife crime and promote legal conservation practices. Support funding applications and grant writing to secure resources for community engagement and conservation initiatives. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of engagement programs and provide reports as required. Keep up to date with environmental policies, conservation best practices, and community engagement strategies. To maintain good relationships and communication between the Partnership and its members and promote the work of the Partnership. To present information (oral and written) about the work of the Partnership. To represent the Belfast Hills Partnership at meetings and events as required. To work with other staff and volunteers to carry out any other duties required for the effective operation of the Partnership and its projects.
