You will be working for a Civil Engineering contractor based in the East Midlands area. The contractor has a strong pipeline of work across the East Midlands, working on various civils projects with project values of up to £10 million. Services include highways works, drainage schemes, earthworks, and reinforced concrete structures. They emphasize safety, quality, and environmental sustainability, maintaining a solid reputation for delivering high-quality results and long-standing client relationships. The company offers excellent opportunities for career progression, including training and development. Due to continued success, they are now looking to onboard a Site Engineer.
Your new role
Your role as a Site Engineer will involve overseeing and managing the construction and maintenance of roadways and highways. Key responsibilities include:
* Site Supervision: Coordinating and supervising the work of construction workers and subcontractors on-site.
* Safety Compliance: Ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations, conducting regular site inspections to identify and mitigate hazards.
* Quality Control: Monitoring work and materials to meet standards and specifications.
* Resource Management: Managing procurement and use of materials, tools, and equipment.
* Communication: Maintaining clear communication with project managers, clients, and stakeholders to provide updates and resolve issues.
* Problem-Solving: Addressing issues or delays promptly during construction.
* Documentation: Keeping detailed records of project progress, including logs, reports, and compliance documentation.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed, you will have:
* Experience overseeing civil works in the highways and groundworks sector in a site management role.
* Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
* CSCS, SMSTS, and First Aid certifications.
