We're recruiting a Branch Sales Executive to join a busy and customer-focused trade branch in Derby. This is a highly front-facing retail and trade role, ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, delivering excellent service, and working in a fast-paced sales environment.
As a Branch Sales Executive, you'll be the first point of contact for trade and retail customers, representing the branch on the trade counter, supporting sales activity, and ensuring every customer receives a professional, knowledgeable and friendly experience. Your key focus will be serving trade and retail customers face-to-face and over the phone, supporting branch sales performance and day-to-day operations.
Key responsibilities:
Providing exceptional customer service on the trade counter
Driving trade counter sales and supporting branch sales targets
Generating quotes, processing orders, and identifying sales opportunities
Confidently advising customers on products, availability, pricing and lead times
Processing card and cash payments accurately, following cash control procedures
Maintaining strong product knowledge, including new and existing ranges
Supporting stock control, deliveries, and goods-in processes
Keeping the branch front-of-house, displays and point-of-sale areas tidy and professional
Working closely with the Branch Manager and other internal teams
Skills and Knowledge
Experience in a customer-facing sales role (retail, trade counter or branch-based)
Knowledge of construction trade is essential, electrical wholesalers, Screwfix type outlets
A confident, friendly and professional manner with customers
Strong communication skills, both face-to-face and over the phone
A proactive approach to sales and customer engagement
Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise
Basic IT skills (MS Office and sales/order systems)
Trade counter experience is desirable but not essential
A full UK driving licence is advantageous
Salary and Benefits
£28-31K plus commission
Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm
