Site Manager – Education Project (School Site) Location: Romford Contract Type: Freelance Start Date: Jan 2025 We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead day-to-day operations on a live school project. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a safe, efficient, and high-quality programme of works, reporting directly to the Project Manager. About the Project This multi-phase scheme includes: Demolition of an existing building Re-cladding works Internal and external refurbishments Coordination of multiple trades in a live school environment Key Responsibilities Manage, supervise, and coordinate all site activities and subcontractors Ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and to the required quality standards Maintain strong communication with the Project Manager, providing regular progress updates Oversee logistics, planning, and sequencing of works, particularly during demolition and cladding phases Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and maintain H&S compliance Liaise with the school and other stakeholders to minimise disruption Manage site documentation, permits, and daily records Requirements Proven experience as a Site Manager on construction or refurbishment projects Strong knowledge of demolition, cladding, and refurbishment processes Valid SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills Ability to work professionally and safely in a live school environment Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
