Job Purpose
The Dynamics 365 / Power Platform Developer will support the Change Delivery Manager in the development, support, and operation of the Council’s digital solutions. This includes the corporate Dynamics 365 CRM, Power Platform, Power Pages, Microsoft 365, and associated web technologies. The role focuses on delivering digital change, improving business processes through automation, and ensuring reliable, secure, and compliant technology solutions that support both internal users and external customers.
Key Responsibilities
Dynamics 365 & Power Platform Development
* Design, develop, configure, and support solutions using Dynamics 365 and the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Pages.
* Build and maintain CRM forms, workflows, integrations, and automated processes.
* Develop and support external-facing digital services using Power Pages.
Digital Change & Delivery
* Support the delivery of digital change initiatives from requirements analysis through to design, development, testing, and go‑live.
* Translate business and customer requirements into effective technical solutions.
* Contribute to projects and change activities, ensuring delivery within agreed timescales.
Web & Microsoft 365 Technologies
* Develop and support applications, forms, and content across the council website, intranet, and Microsoft 365.
* Use HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to enhance user experience and functionality where required.
* Support system integrations using APIs.
Stakeholder Support & Advice
* Provide technical advice, system knowledge, and expertise to stakeholders.
* Support digital transformation and continuous process improvement across services.
Security, Compliance & Reliability
* Ensure all solutions comply with GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, particularly when handling personal data.
* Actively contribute to the Council’s cyber security posture, promoting and implementing best practice.
* Ensure systems are reliable, supported, and maintained to agreed standards.
* Participate in out‑of‑hours support when required for emergency or planned work.
Working Arrangements
* Hybrid working model
* On‑site attendance required for the first week for training
* Ongoing remote working available, with occasional on‑site attendance
* Standard expectation: minimum 3 days per week on site
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven experience developing with Dynamics 365 (CRM)
* Strong experience with the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Pages
* Experience integrating systems using APIs
* Front‑end development experience using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
* Experience delivering digital change or system improvements
* Understanding of data protection and information security principles
Desirable Experience
* Experience working in local government or the public sector
* Experience supporting customer‑facing digital services
* Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools (SharePoint, Teams, automation)
