Sales Executive, Meetings & Events - Maternity Cover - Reading
We are seeking an enthusiastic and organised Sales Executive, Meetings & Events to join our team at The Swan at Streatley, a riverside hotel and events destination. This 18-month maternity cover role starting in Autumn 2025 offers the opportunity to play a key part in driving sales and supporting the delivery of groups, meetings, and events in a vibrant hospitality setting.
1. Manage the planning process for groups, meetings, and events, including final deposits, collating final numbers and menu options, building and distributing function sheets, and updating our booking platform.
2. Liaise directly with clients via phone, email, and face-to-face to upsell our offerings and ensure all final details and relevant information for bookings are captured for function sheets.
3. Achieve set KPIs, including upsell targets, quality of work, high service levels, attention to detail, response time, client tours, and sales plan objectives.
4. Ensure all sales tools, including digital collateral and virtual tours, are up-to-date and effectively utilised throughout the sales process.
5. Support the sales team in responding to client queries via email and phone, ensuring these channels are covered during business hours.
6. Update online lead generation platforms with promotions, imagery, and accurate property information.
7. Help manage and develop a portfolio of accounts to increase revenue and market share.
8. Support the sales team with activities that help the hotel achieve revenue targets across group bookings, meetings, and events.
9. Attend and support the management of key sales events, including virtual presentations, wedding showcases, seasonal restaurant launches, fam trips, and menu tastings.
10. Participate in regular sales, revenue, and strategy meetings to share updates on bookings and clients.
11. Attend and present at weekly operations and function sheet meetings.
12. Ensure company and sales team standards, processes, and SOPs are followed in line with hotel guidelines.
13. Provide ongoing support to the Sales Team and Director of Sales with ad hoc projects and initiatives.
14. Assist with budget planning, forecasting, expense tracking, and reporting.
15. Support competitor analysis to ensure the hotel remains competitively positioned within the market.
