Role Summary
In addition to the below functions, employees are required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required in order to support the objectives of the business. The role of the QMiP is to advise the Project Director/Senior Project Manager in expediting quality assurance on the project(s). The QMiP is also responsible for managing and/or monitoring the quality resource on the project. The QMiP is the subject matter expert and should assist in the planning of all key quality activity across the life cycle of the project. It is also important that the QMIP has the expressed authority to intervene at any stage in the project if proceedings could have a negative impact on the project. The QMiP should report directly to the Senior Project Manager and/or the Project Director on the project for that reason. They act as a member of the core project management team. In regard to functional matters the reporting line is additionally to the sub divisional or divisional Head of Quality of the project related business (HQ).
Key responsibilities
* Manage quality assurance resources on the project
* Monitor quality inspection resources
* Manage the customer interface with regards Quality to ensure issues are effectively closed to their satisfaction
* Manage all external interface with regards to quality matters, i.e., registration bodies, industry bodies, etc
* Ensure and reporting of appropriate activities regarding the Quality management of the Project
* Assist the Work package managers in failure prevention and NRC closure and other quality issues as they arise
* Ensure the provision of quality training as required to project staff
* Have oversight on quality supplier selection and ongoing surveillance/monitoring activity for the project
* Carry out effective planning and management of day-to-day tasks across the team, pro-active and re-active, such as auditing, inspections, lessons learned, managing continuous improvements activity and CAPA during the project lifecycle
* Identification of qualification shortcomings and training of project employees with regard to quality, including methodology such as risk analysis, FMEA, review techniques, cause-effect analysis, 8-D method, and process awareness and related IT initiatives
Competence Requirements

* Lead auditor qualification
* NG Persons or similar
* Substantial experience (typically 5 years+) in a senior operational quality position such as a quality manager working in a project office environment
* Substantial experience of dealing at all levels across a project
* Substantial experience of working in highly regulated industries
* Substantial experience of working in a matrix organisation assisting in the delivery of large infrastructure projects
* CDM awareness
* Degree level qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, IT
* Driver awareness
* Experience of applying CDM in everyday work
* Experience of dealing with third parties/external bodies
* IOSH Managing Safely
* Managed and selected quality teams to support project activity
* Siemens QMIP (Cat A & B Course) Chartered Quality Professional course or similar
* Working towards or hold Chartered Quality qualification
