Responsibilities
As a Configuration developer for the EPR programme, you will be the specialist responsible for configuration, testing and implementation activities supporting the delivery of our paperless hospital vision. You will play a critical role, working on multiple projects simultaneously alongside business analysts, system suppliers, senior developers and stakeholders from across the three hospital sites.
Working closely with our teams of Digital Nurses and EPR Programme leads, you will help deliver solutions that remove the reliance on paper for healthcare delivery. You will transform solution designs and requirements specifications into robust solutions utilising our key systems around which we are building our hybrid electronic patient record. You will follow best practice development, configuration and testing lifecycles using agile product and traditional waterfall approaches. The work will entail the use of a range of technologies along an open, standards‑based approach to develop electronic data capture forms and correspondence templates.
You will develop and maintain JavaScript code with support of HTML, CSS and jQuery to integrate with UHL system configuration and support clinical pathways. As a subject‑matter expert (SME) for configuration & Content, development platforms and processes, you will be responsible for ensuring that development and testing processes, tools and techniques are fit for purpose and meet the requirements of the IM&T Enterprise Architecture and Portfolio Management Office policies and procedures.
Translate designs into robust solutions supportable by the Trust's managed business partner for IM&T.
Adhere to policies and standards to ensure consistency across all elements of the IM&T portfolio. Work closely with other departmental subject‑matter experts and architects to ensure the technology infrastructure is extensible and reduces complexity wherever possible. Follow quality standards and control processes. Ensure that quality control activities (e.g., testing) are carried out satisfactorily and options for resolution of defects are clearly articulated. Ensure IT solutions meet information and cyber‑security governance standards.
Document configuration and development activities clearly so that key information can easily be shared with support teams for business‑as‑usual support and maintenance activities. Investigate and resolve complex issues relating to configuration items, identifying creative solutions, and evaluating the relative merits of different options. Take advantage of new developing techniques and technologies, working closely with the IM&T Enterprise Architecture function to future‑proof the UHL eHospital platform. Maintain good working relationships with external stakeholders and system vendors.
