At Watkin Jones, we’re pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Site Manager to join our team and work within the refresh arm of the business on schemes with values between £1 million and £5 million.
This is a key role within our growing refurbishment division, giving you the opportunity to make a real impact as we continue to expand in this area of the business.
As Site Manager, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management of activity on site, ensuring that all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard of quality. You'll drive progress to meet programme deadlines, manage subcontractors on-site, and take a hands-on approach to maintaining momentum and compliance.
You will play a crucial part in communicating site instructions and coordinating subcontractor activities in line with the construction programme, regularly liaising with the Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor and attending coordination meetings as required.
In addition to site operations, you’ll maintain oversight of drawings and plans, with a focus on ensuring adherence to budgets and minimising waste. You will also take on specific responsibilities within the wider project as delegated by the senior management team, contributing to the overall success of the development.
About You:
You’ll bring solid experience working in a construction or development environment, with a strong understanding of site operations and health and safety standards. You hold a valid SMSTS and CSCS card, along with a First Aid certificate, and ideally have completed a Level 3 or 4 qualification (such as an NVQ, Apprenticeship, or HNC) in a relevant subject. Comfortable reading and interpreting construction drawings, you also have practical experience using Microsoft Office applications. You're a dependable team player who works collaboratively to achieve shared goals and may have experience working with subcontractors or in a supervisory role, such as an Assistant or Site Manager. Additional training in site safety or tools would be an advantage.
