Brief Description
Lead the design, development and maintenance of low-code digital solutions following the Digital Factory development standards and appropriate governance. Provide subject matter expertise and advice to the business, and to provide solutions that meet business requirements.
About The Role
Lead the development phase of the Digital Factory low-code Software Delivery Lifecycle, leading to the successful delivery of low code software which meets the defined customer requirements. Design, develop and implement low-code solutions for the business, to include the building of prototypes and mock-ups of new low-code solutions to meet customer requirements. Lead and organise customer meetings around low-code requirements, enabling the identification of key requirements and the rapid delivery of low code digital products. Specify and lead on the design, validation, development, implementation and maintenance for Digital Factory customers using low code platforms in order to deliver solutions to the business in an expediated manner. Lead the provision of technical support and expertise for Network Rail's mobile low-code applications, infrastructure and solutions, investigating and documenting fixes within the support system to minimise non-availability of applications to customers. Validate, review and produce technical and user documentation for delivered low code solutions, explaining complex concepts in simple terms, so that the product is supportable by internal and external technical support teams and decisions can be made using valid information. Identify, plan and deliver any upgrades that will have a direct impact on the operation of the low-code infrastructure, so that that deployed low code applications continue to function as designed following the successful completion of any upgrade activity. Provide expertise on the best ways of solving complex business problems using the low code tools available within the Digital Factory, leading on the implementation and identification of any additional components that may provide further benefit. Provide a high level of expertise on low code platforms and industry best practise whilst collaborating Digital Factory colleagues, end-users and other stakeholders to drive continuous improvement of the tools and reports delivered by the development team.
Essential
* Degree in Computer Science or similar/equivalent relevant experience.
* Extensive commercial experience designing and developing low-code solutions with a solid understanding and experience of low-code solutions and platforms.
* Solid development experience using Office 365 Forms and Microsoft Power Apps.
* Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 (Cascading Style Sheets).
* A good understanding of database design.
* Experience of accessing data programmatically and knowledge of data structures.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, having the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Ability to adapt and stay on top of emerging low code technologies and trends.
Desirable
* Awareness of the Agile methodology lifecycle.
* Understanding of software testing.
