The British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) is a leading professional body and registered charity representing over 2,300 dermatologists in the UK and internationally, dedicated to advancing dermatology, improving patient care, and supporting the professionals who treat skin disease.
BAD is now looking for a part-time HR Manager to join their friendly and purpose-driven team in Central London. This is a newly created role designed to strengthen and develop the HR function across the organisation — supporting around 50 staff working across areas including events, standards, service improvement and education.
You’ll act as the go-to person for HR advice and support, working closely with managers and an external HR consultancy to ensure best practice across the employee lifecycle. It’s a standalone role with plenty of scope to shape how HR operates – perfect for someone who enjoys autonomy, variety, and building positive workplace culture.
What you’ll be doing
* Providing trusted advice and guidance on HR queries, policies, and employee relations matters.
* Managing recruitment, onboarding, performance, and development processes.
* Reviewing and updating HR policies and contracts, ensuring compliance with UK employment law.
* Supporting a culture of wellbeing, inclusion, and engagement across the organisation.
* Leading workforce planning and learning initiatives in collaboration with line managers.
* Reporting to senior leadership on HR matters and supporting continuous improvement.
What we’re looking for
* CIPD-qualified (or equivalent experience).
* Solid HR generalist experience, ideally within a charity, membership, or not-for-profit setting.
* Excellent working knowledge of UK employment law.
* Confident communicator with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
* Practical, solutions-focused approach and the ability to work independently.
* Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and cloud-based systems (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
* Experience in organisational development, change management, or HR data reporting would be a bonus.
If you’re looking for a meaningful part-time HR role in a supportive, values-driven organisation, we’d love to hear from you.
