Job description
Our client, a leading contractor in the water sector, is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Site Manager to join their team. This permanent position offers a unique opportunity to oversee and manage construction projects to meet customers' objectives, while adhering to high standards of health and safety, quality, environmental impact, and cost control.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver various projects in the Civil and Water sectors successfully
2. Ensure work is completed to the specified quality without defects
3. Lead teams of Sub Agents, Engineers, and Foremen to deliver work safely and to the specified quality
4. Produce and implement Project Plans, RAMS, and ITPs, aligning with company procedures
5. Maximise the commercial performance of contracts
6. Develop and manage project construction programmes
7. Create procurement schedules and coordinate with the procurement department
8. Represent the business to customers, public, and official bodies
9. Ensure end products meet customer requirements and satisfaction
10. Manage the project cost plan
11. Maximise project value and complete detailed site diaries/records
12. Maintain commercial tension and highlight value engineering opportunities
13. Produce accurate monthly reports for clients and internal use
14. Chair weekly site meetings as per company procedures
Job Requirements:
15. Experience in Civil Engineering, Water, Utilities
16. Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent
17. Working knowledge of contract conditions, CDM regulations, and cost control
18. Experience managing subcontractors and producing Safe Systems of Work
19. Knowledge of JCT and NEC contract forms
20. CSCS (Site Manager), SMSTS & IOSH
21. Excellent communication, team management skills, and problem-solving abilities
22. Confined Space Training would be an advantage
