The Role
The Senior Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications, with a focus on high-quality, scalable code. This role demonstrates deep technical understanding and strong problem-solving and works both independently and in collaboration with other developers and stakeholders. The position of Senior Developer takes ownership of key project components, and often acts as a technical leader within the development teams.

* Remain an expert in the design, development and maintenance of software applications, and high-quality scalable code, with knowledge in Travel, Entertainment and Events industries
* Initiate continuous improvement and provide suggestions to improve at staff or business level
* Partner with relevant departments for cross-division and global activities
* Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Suitable candidates should have
* Education to Degree level or higher in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Successful experience of working within development teams
* Experience with development methodologies including Agile and traditional Waterfall
* Proven ability to work in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment
* Working knowledge of travel industry technologies (e.g., booking tools and GDS systems)
* Previous experience developing software in the entertainment industry
* Strong technical awareness and a collaborative, pragmatic approach
* Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously
* Analytical problem-solver with critical thinking and risk understanding
* Versatile, adaptable, and able to handle changing priorities with enthusiasm
* Strong practical experience of SPA Web Development, including:
* JavaScript and TypeScript
* HTML5, CSS3+ (including frameworks like Tailwind)
* Responsive design for mobile and desktop
* Vue.js (V3), PrimeUI, Axios
* CSS preprocessors (SASS/SCSS) and build tools (Vite, Webpack)
* MSAL and SSO environments
* REST-based API interactions
* Visual design, UI/UX, accessibility (WCAG/WAI) and usability
* Wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mock-ups
* Figma or similar tools (e.g., Sketch, Adobe XD)
* Testing frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Mocha, Jest) and related tools (Selenium, Playwright, Docker, Postman, GitHub)
The Where and When
This is a full-time role (35 hours per week) based in our Manchester office. Since March 2020, we have operated a flexible, hybrid approach to working and will continue to do this moving forward. We will work with you to find the best mix of office and home working that suits your life and the needs of the team.
You will report into the Engineering Manager who is also based in Manchester. There are other regional teams based in the US, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand that you may work closely with too.
