About the Role
The Peer Support Practitioner role is part of the Scottish Government Mental Health Strategy and is delivered in partnership with the Fife Health and Social Care Partnership. The role supports a peer-led community project that operates across Kirkcaldy, Dunfermline, Leven and the Victoria Hospital Emergency Department. Practitioners work across all locations providing proactive, recovery‑focused peer support to individuals in crisis and maintaining strong collaborative relationships with statutory and voluntary partners, including first responders and out‑of‑hours mental health teams.
What we are looking for
You will use your lived experience of mental health challenges and recovery journey to support service users. The role requires facilitation of initial crisis intervention and ongoing one‑to‑one sessions, tailored to each individual’s expressed needs. Practitioners act as role‑models of recovery, promote SAMH values and guidelines, and maintain a flexible, dynamic approach to ensure consistent quality of support.

Requirements
Applicants must obtain a PVG check and a Right to Work in the UK check. Proof of the qualifications stated on the application form is also required.
