Our client is looking for an experienced and time-served Quality Manager to lead their Quality Department. This is a key role for a proven professional with a strong background in both Quality Assurance and Quality Control, capable of driving standards across the business. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage processes, and maintain strong relationships with customers.
Brief outline of duties
Lead and develop the Quality team, including Engineers, Inspectors, and Technicians.
Manage and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001 and customer-specific standards.
Plan, conduct, and report on internal audits, ensuring all departments remain compliant and improvement opportunities are identified and actioned.
Coordinate and host external and customer audits, ensuring a professional approach and successful outcomes.
Carry out supplier audits and work with suppliers to ensure consistent quality and compliance.
Serve as the main customer contact for all quality-related issues, audits, and performance reviews.
Analyse and interpret quality data to identify trends, drive corrective and preventive actions, and monitor performance.
Support new product introduction (NPI) activities with quality planning, control plans, and validation processes.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote a culture of quality throughout the business.Experience required
Time-served Quality professional with extensive experience in a manufacturing environment.
Proven experience as a Quality Manager or Senior Quality Engineer with team leadership responsibility.
Strong background in auditing (internal, external, and supplier) and QMS management.
In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 and customer-specific quality systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise confidently with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and present clear performance insights.
Proficient in root cause analysis and problem-solving tools.
A practical and methodical approach with the confidence to challenge and influence at all levels.
