Working in partnership with the Ministry of Justice (MOJ), this role is part of a major fire safety improvement programme across 26 UK prison establishments. The MOJ owns 75 sites nationwide and works closely with our client for day-to-day maintenance. Our client, who typically focused on northern sites, has secured the contract for this southern-based project—an advantage given our strong working relationship with them.
Your new role
You’ll be based at HMP Erlestoke, overseeing fire safety improvement works for a duration of 40–52 weeks, starting in November. Reporting directly to themercial Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing site activity, ensuringpliance, and maintaining high standards of safety and delivery. This is a high-profile role requiring credibility, reliability, and deep construction knowledge.
What you'll need to succeed
You must be construction qualified, with proven experience of managing work on live sites. Fire safety experience is highly desirable, and prior prison clearance is a distinct advantage. You’ll need to obtain Prison DBS clearance, which can take 8+ weeks, so early engagement is key. Strongmunication and stakeholder management skills are essential.
