Job Description
3. Develop and deliver the HR strategy with the Managing Director, including succession planning, talent acquisition, and external engagement (e.g. apprenticeships, schools, universities, professional bodies).
4. Manage day‑to‑day HR operations and administration, including payroll oversight, absence monitoring, and maintenance of personnel records.
5. Lead recruitment and onboarding, and provide advice on employee relations matters including discipline, absence management, and non‑UK workers.
6. Provide practical HR support, coaching, and mediation to managers and employees, including resolving workplace issues and people‑related challenges.
7. Ensure ISO9001 compliance in relation to role clarity, competence, training, and documented processes.
8. Manage training, appraisal, and performance management systems, including identifying training needs and evaluating effectiveness.
9. Develop and maintain reward frameworks, policies, and procedures, ensuring they are up to date, legally compliant, and fit for purpose.
10. Support change management initiatives and oversee employee wellbeing initiatives, including measures to reduce absenteeism
11. Play a key role in developing workforce capability and management effectiveness, reducing reliance on senior leadership for day‑to‑day operational people management and supporting business growth.
12. Promote a positive, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture and support employee engagement and development.
The Successful Applicant
Essential:
13. Previous experience of working in a HR Manager role
14. Good understanding of UK employment law and experience managing ER cases
15. Self‑motivated with the ability to effectively prioritise and manage their own workload in a fast‑paced environment
16. Ability to interact at all levels of the business
Desired:
17. Human Resources Qualification and/or CIPD membership
18. Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment
