Project Overview
We are seeking experienced
Slingers/Banksmen
to support vessel operations in
Middlesbrough, commencing
15th October 2025
(date subject to change - may be earlier). This is a long-term project with approximately
one vessel every 10 days, expected to run for
12 months. The role involves assisting with offloading operations using the vessel's own crane, operating on continuous
7-day / 7-night shifts
on a
12-hour rotation .
Key Responsibilities
Work alongside vessel crew and site supervisors to manage safe lifting operations
Sling and signal cement and other materials during vessel discharge
Ensure safe use of vessel cranes during operations
Follow strict safety protocols and site procedures
Maintain clear communication with supervisors and team members
Report any incidents, hazards, or unsafe practices immediately
Candidate Requirements
Valid certification (one of the following):
NPROS - Slinger Banksman
CSCS - Slinger Signaller
OPITO qualification
Previous experience in port/marine or heavy lifting environments (preferred)
Strong safety awareness and ability to follow strict operational procedures
Physically fit and able to work
12-hour shifts
in a port environment
Flexibility to work rotational shifts (days/nights, weekdays/weekends)
Work Pattern
Shifts:
12 hours (Days & Nights)
Rotation:
Up to 14 days on / 2 days off
Continuous coverage required (core team with reserves for sickness/absence)
Pay Rates
Weekday Days (Mon-Fri):
£16/hour
Nights (Mon-Thu):
£18/hour
Friday Night:
£20/hour
Saturday Day:
£18/hour
Saturday Night:
£20/hour
Sunday Day:
£18/hour
Sunday Night:
£20/hour
