Site Construction Manager - Job Description
At All Times- Ensure all personnel complete induction and show valid qualifications.
- Enforce mandatory PPE.
- Keep work areas tidy and access routes clear.
- Prevent unauthorised work.
- Keep site secure.
- Review/update CPP or H&S Plan.
- Plan and communicate activities.
- Inspect welfare areas regularly.
- Manage waste appropriately.
- Ensure statutory inspections; remove keys when not in use.
- Confirm approved RAMS and undertake risk assessments.
- Provide supervision.
- Monitor site daily.
Documentation- Review/update PCI.
- Ensure CPP/H&S Plan includes all required details.
- Provide CPP to Client and PD/PSDP.
- Complete notifications and maintain written appointments.
Site SetupWelfare
- Maintain professional, heated facilities.
- Provide hygiene products and emergency equipment.
Security
- Secure boundary, signage, lighting.
- Secure equipment and manage storage.
People
- All arrivals report, sign in, and receive induction.
People on Site- Full induction required.
- Visitors accompanied.
- Maintain qualification records.
Methodology & RAMS- Produce methodology sequencing.
- Review third‑party RAMS.
- Final RAMS due 5 days pre‑start.
Before Work StartsCoordination
- Plan activities considering overlaps.
Pre‑Work Briefing
- All operatives attend.
- Review tasks, risks, issues.
Permit to Work
- Required for high‑risk tasks.
- Issuing Authority remains on site.
Additional Requirements
- Conduct briefings and pre‑use inspections.
- Establish emergency arrangements.
Temporary Works (TW)- Coordination or awareness training or experience required.
- Maintain TW register, design brief, and checks.
Overseeing & Monitoring Work- Supervisors ensure safety and briefings.
- Conduct daily monitoring.
- Contractors report issues.
- Close permits and complete reviews.
Testing & Commissioning- Produce commissioning programme.
- Record testing and include in O&M manuals.
- Maintain defect register.
Handover- Provide H&S File.
- Deliver end‑user training.
- Issue final acceptance certificate.
