Joiner / Handyman / Multi-Trader Wanted
Join Jack's Solutions – Established 2017
Since 2017, Jack's Solutions has built up more than 250 five-star reviews across MyBuilder, Facebook, and Google. We pride ourselves on workmanship, reliability, and treating every customer's home with the same care as our own.
We're now looking for a skilled Joiner, Handyman, or Multi-Trader to join our growing team.
What We're Looking For
* Ideally a qualified Joiner (this is our biggest gap right now).
* A confident multi-trader with strong skills across a few trades.
* Experienced only – this isn't a training role.
* Someone who values quality over rushing, but understands deadlines and can handle price work (kitchens, bathrooms, small renovations).
* A clean (or nearly clean) driving licence – a small van can be provided for the right candidate.
Main Trades We Cover
* Joinery (1st fix and 2nd fix, kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, doors, finishing)
* Plumbing (handled in-house)
* Wet and Dry Rot Repairs
* Small renovations and property improvements
* General handyman work – shelf hanging, TV mounting, wall panelling, flatpack assembly
* Electrics covered in-house (by myself)
* Fully qualified electrician, bricklayer, and plasterer available when needed for specialist work
You'll mainly be working on joinery, kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, finishing, and general handyman tasks – the core of what we do.
Tools and Equipment
* All large tools and kit provided.
* You'll just need your own hand tools and a basic 18V power tool kit.
Work Area and Hours
* Jobs across Edinburgh, Fife, Perth, Livingston, and Dundee.
* Preferred working hours: 7:30am – 3:30pm to miss traffic.
* If the timescale allows, we finish early – we like to get stuck in and get it done; no one wants to stay late, especially if you're a hard and fast worker.
* Flexible hours available for dads/parents – start later after the school run and work later to make up hours.
* Breaks: 2 x 15 mins, or usually just 1 x 30 min lunch break.
We aren't a "hard-pushed" company – steady work, fair pace, and realistic hours.
Pay and Terms
* Weekly pay (week in lieu).
* 3-month probation period.
* CIS or PAYE available – wages vary depending on experience, tool kit, and expertise.
* Mix of hourly rate and price work opportunities.
What We Expect
* Take pride in doing the job right, not just fast.
* Respect customers' homes and represent the business professionally.
* Be ready to graft Mondays – we don't care about your weekend, but you must show up fit for work.
* Be reliable, proactive, and willing to muck in across different trades when needed.
About the Team
Currently we're a small crew of 3 – 2 plumbers and myself. We're short on a joiner, so this role is a key hire to balance the team. With joinery support, we've got plumbing, electrics, wet/dry rot, handyman work, and reliable trades (electrician, bricklayer, plasterer) all covered.
