Plan and deliver organised workshops to students with additional learning needs to support their success, achievement, and progress. All workshops should be informed by students' needs and may include subjects such as exam skills, social skills, independence skills, employability skills, study skills, and life skills, contributing to students' outcomes and playing a key role in their success.
Collaborate with ALS/Enhance Team Leaders, Programme Coordinators, Transition Coordinators, and the Enrichment Team to plan and deliver a wide range of extra-curricular activities for students with EHCPs. These activities aim to meet their outcomes, facilitate greater independence, and enable students with high needs funding or declared support needs to access learning and college facilities, aiding transition, retention, and achievement.
Duties
The following outlines the main priorities of this role, as directed by your line manager. It is not an exhaustive list of duties:
* Plan, facilitate, and deliver tailored workshops and 1:1 support meetings for students with SEND that promote independence and success in their chosen fields and daily lives.
* Facilitate target setting for individual students, working with curriculum teams to use EHCP outcomes to set ambitious learning goals that enhance employment opportunities and independence, including real-life situations, work experience, and community participation. Attend reviews and PCARs to support the development and review of personalised learning goals.
* Collaborate with Teachers and Learning Support Assistants to monitor individual students' progress, including target grades. Identify learning skills needed for progress and tailor support programs accordingly.
* Utilise and develop learning resources, including assistive technology and online/remote tools, to help students overcome barriers to achieving their goals.
* Develop and implement strategies, such as Zones of Regulation, to support students in building confidence and self-esteem.
* Assess, analyse, and report on students' progress, attending reviews as needed to measure the impact of interventions over time.
* Support the identification of students' needs during interviews to plan support in advance of enrolment.
* Coordinate with parents, carers, college staff, and external agencies to ensure a coherent support plan for each student.
* Act as the main contact for students and families during key periods, including facilitating Person Centred Annual Reviews (PCARs) for EHCP students and ensuring smooth transitions.
Promote the work of the ALS/Enhance team within college to foster an inclusive culture.
