About the Role We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to take ownership of a key operational site, leading a skilled team of mechanical fitters and supervisors. This role is pivotal in ensuring safety, compliance, and operational excellence while acting as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders. As the Controller of Premises, you will uphold all health, safety, and environmental regulations, drive quality standards, and foster team development. You will play a crucial role in resource planning, scheduling, and delivering engineering projects safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management: Lead, mentor, and support a team of 8, including supervisors and mechanical fitters, ensuring personal development and managing HR-related matters. Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to LOLER, PUWER, COSHH, PAT, and other regulatory requirements. Conduct toolbox talks, risk assessments, and site inspections. Client & Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary on-site contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring clear communication. Operational Oversight: Manage day-to-day site activities, including logistics, permits, material deliveries, and subcontractor coordination. Quality & Compliance: Uphold company and client standards, ensuring all work is delivered safely, on time, and to specification. Planning & Scheduling: Optimise resource allocation, monitor progress, and report deviations to the Project Manager. Continuous Improvement: Drive proactive HSE initiatives, maintain accurate records, and promote best practices. Person Specification Experience: Proven background in a Site Manager, Team Leader, or Supervisor role within engineering, utilities, or construction. Qualifications: SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS card, First Aid certification (preferred). Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Competent in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Knowledge: Solid understanding of CDM regulations, HSE legislation, and site management best practices. Attributes: Proactive, safety-focused, and able to motivate teams under pressure.
