Job Purpose
The Automation Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software automation with a focus on CAD applications. The role requires end to end project ownership, this includes working with users to understanding requirements, analysing user problems and designing solutions to meet them, following best practices to develop and test solutions and supporting developments once in production.
The Person:
* Previous experience in developing software or automation solutions
* Previous experience using Parametric Manufacturing CAD software (E.g. Inventor, SolidWorks) would be beneficial but is not essential
* Proficient in at least one programming language
* Knowledge of software development practices such as version control (Git) and automated testing and deployment (CI/CD)
* Experience with RPA would be beneficial but is not required
* Demonstrate excellent communication skills and ability to influence at all levels.
* Be exceptionally organised and able to multitask with ease.
* Strong problem-solving skills and good attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
* Creation of test automation scripts and models for business product configurator
* Designing and developing general software automation for the business CAD software
* Proactively researching new technologies and systems – reporting these to management
* Working closely with our Production sites to maintain and support automation within their processes.
