Role: Cook Location: Kilbroney House Nursing Home, Rostrevor Hours: Friday, Saturday & Sunday (twice a month approx. 57 hours) holiday cover (flexible) Shift Time: 7.30am 5.00pm Rate: £15 per hour About the Role Kilbroney House Nursing Home is seeking a reliable, experienced, and compassionate Cook to join our friendly team. You will play a vital role in ensuring our 17 residents enjoy nutritious, well-balanced, and home-cooked meals tailored to their individual dietary needs and preferences. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in preparing wholesome food and enjoys working within a caring, community-focused environment. Main Responsibilities Prepare, cook, and serve breakfast, lunch, and tea for residents. Plan and deliver nutritious, varied menus that cater to individual dietary requirements, including IDDSI texture-modified diets where needed. Ensure all meals are prepared and served to a high standard, maintaining both quality and presentation. Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen, adhering strictly to food hygiene and safety regulations. Work collaboratively with care staff to support residents food choices and mealtime preferences. Provide flexible cover for holidays or staff absences, as required. Requirements Previous experience working as a Cook, ideally within a care home or similar catering environment. Good knowledge of food hygiene, safety, and allergen management. Ability to work independently, plan menus, and manage time effectively. A caring and patient attitude with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of residents. Food hygiene certification (Level 2 or higher) is desirable. What We Offer Competitive rate of £15 per hour. Supportive and friendly working environment.
