Leading our People Team, we work in collaboration onsite, supporting our operation with expertise and providing efficient guidance on all matters relating to HR.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead a seamless adoption of transitional People strategies into the business and rollout broader people initiatives.
* Ensure our operation is accurately reporting and performing People KPIs (e.g., Attrition, absence, recruitment).
* Build strong relationships and collaboration with our operational teams.
* Utilize HR expertise as an escalation point for ER case management, including support to wider regional sites/operations on the contract.
* Lead the people team, including but not limited to; performance objective setting, 121s, development, and career conversations.
* Lead and engage in people-related projects and initiatives (e.g., Wellbeing, Diversity & Inclusion).
* Embed activities that drive high levels of employee engagement, retention, and inclusivity, following our Wincanton Way values.
* Socialize, coach, and engage site teams on People-related SOPs, HR systems, policies, and procedures.
* Partner with training teams across Wincanton to ensure all colleagues receive a quality induction and ongoing training.
This role is based on-site, predominantly Monday to Friday, but there may be occasional requirements to support the night team and weekends.
What Will You Bring To Our Team
We're looking for you to be proactive, adaptable, and resilient with your HR knowledge and experience.
* Proven experience within a fast-paced HR function as People/HR management.
* Managing and resolving industrial relations and/or employee relations matters (e.g., exposure to union activity and active involvement in disciplinary, grievance, and suspension processes).
* Strong understanding of employment T&Cs and statutory elements.
* Experience managing employee data through secure portals (Kronos or Oracle Cloud desirable).
* Strong experience in applying functional knowledge and methodologies to resolve challenges and deliver a positive colleague experience.
* Proven improvement mindset and initiatives in line with process and company values.
