Outdoor Learning Mentorat Delta Education Trust, Delta Bespoke

£26,095 – £27,814 per annum, pro rata to £22,331 – £23,802 for 37 hours per week, term time only. Plus generous pension and sick pay scheme.

As part of the Delta Education Trust, Delta Bespoke manages and runs a series of Adventure Learning Outdoor Education Centres for young people who struggle in mainstream education settings. Our vision, Happiness in the Pursuit of Learning, embodies our passion for creating learning and educational opportunities for students who find being in the classroom difficult.

Are you an enthusiastic individual with a passion for outdoor learning who can bring this vision to life and make a real difference to the lives and prospects of our young people? If so, then this role is for you.

The role:

Our adventure learning leaders are always looking for great people to join them. Currently, we are looking for Outdoor Learning Mentors to work with our Instructor Teams to support an outdoor education-focused curriculum. Your role will include supporting students in outdoor & adventurous activities such as mountain biking, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, rock climbing, and orienteering as directed by the instructor.

About you:

* You ideally have experience in a similar role.
* You are a highly motivated and flexible individual who can form positive relationships with students with a wide range of special needs to make a positive difference.
* You have a particular interest in teaching students with special educational needs, including those with behavioural, emotional, and social issues.
* Resilience, patience, and a sense of humour are essential.

About us:

At The Wymering School, part of the Delta Education Trust, we specialise in making magic happen every day. We’re passionate about creating an environment where every child, regardless of their challenges, can shine.

We support young people with social communication and interaction difficulties, associated speech, language, and communication difficulties, and high levels of anxiety or distressed behaviour. We seek super-organised, people-loving, multitasking individuals, and part superhero (cape optional), to join our growing team as Teaching Assistants.

About Delta:

At Delta, we care deeply about our pupils and their attitude towards learning. We pride ourselves on creating exciting learning environments and innovative curricula suitable for all ages and abilities. With Delta Bespoke, pupils learn to become knowledgeable, self-aware, independent, and emotionally regulated. Our goal is to develop students who are happy with themselves, brave enough to cope, and confident to make positive decisions, wherever life takes them.

You will be part of an inclusive and collaborative team that faces challenges head-on and is committed to seeing them through.

Delta Bespoke values recruiting the best people to ensure outstanding service. We believe that the best work is done in a supportive and enjoyable environment that encourages employee development.

We support our staff in achieving relevant outdoor qualifications needed for the role.

We also offer:

* A supportive leadership team that values your ideas and ambitions.
* Opportunities for professional growth and career progression.
* Generous sick pay and pension scheme.
* The chance to make a genuine impact on children’s lives every day.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. This role involves working directly with children and requires all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Please ensure a full work history is included in your application, including any employment gaps. Applicants will need to complete an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check prior to starting. The Trust is an equal opportunities employer.

If shortlisted, the HR Department will conduct an online search of your name, education, and employment history, including social media platforms, to ensure due diligence following ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ guidance. This search will not influence the shortlisting process, but any concerns identified will be discussed with you.
