BDS are working with a housing association in South Manchester to recruit a housing and safeguarding manager to work with a local team to support vulnerable tenants to address issues such as tenancy breakdown risk, domestic abuse, mental health, social isolation and poverty.
The post holder will work to enhanced customer experience through delivery of an efficient and effective service, contributing to the development and implementation of policies and best practices that enable greater customer voice and support aspirations ensuring excellent value for money.
Duties:
* To provide leadership to the team for all aspects of performance and take responsibility for the team’s achievement of outcomes and objectives
* To maintain a comprehensive understanding of customer voice, demand trends and sustainment trigger points, using customer insight data to inform best approaches to deliver an effective service.
* To develop processes to support customers and deliver excellent customer service by focussing on the customer’s strengths, to successfully manage their tenancy and live independently, reducing homelessness.
* Work proactively with partners to deliver an effective Health & Wellbeing approach for customers that works collaboratively with statutory partners, health colleagues, the 3rd sector, the Housing Services and Community & Neighbourhood
* Development teams to support tenants to live well and maintain their tenancies and to seek to address health related issues such as food poverty and social isolation, always adopting a relevant person-centred approach including considering complex and adverse childhood experiences physical and mental health support needs and adopting the LIFE model to guide the level of support and interventions
* To proactively lead in the delivery of the safeguarding and modern slavery strategy to meet safeguarding obligations.
* To proactively work and support in the development and delivery of the domestic abuse strategy,
* To attend and support MARAC to deliver positive outcomes.
* Provide guidance, coaching and support to staff to assess and identify any training and aspiration needs.
Criteria:
* Strong housing background
* Strong safeguarding and domestic abuse experience and knowledge within the housing sector – (this role will lead safeguarding and domestic abuse approach ensuring best practise and compliance with legal/regulatory reqs).
* Experience of managing tenancy sustainment teams, with caseloads of work – looking for strong people management
* Experience of designing and implementing support services through a transformation programme
* Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to tenancy sustainment and support services in housing.
This is initially an agency opportunity in the first instance for up to 6 months with likely extension and potential to become permanent
The role offers a hybrid approach though you will need to be flexible as an onsite presence will be required.
Hours are 35 per week worked Monday to Friday
Salary from £49,000 per annum
