Hours: Basic number of hours will be 35 hours per week with ½ break each day. The hours of duty will be 7am - 2.30pm or 7.30am - 3pm, Monday to Friday, term time only including INSET days (40 weeks per year)
A highly reputable primary school in Peterborough, known for its commitment to excellence and nurturing environment, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Catering Manager to join their permanent staff list. This Ofsted-rated GOOD school prides itself on providing a supportive and inclusive atmosphere for both students and staff.
The Catering Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the school's catering services, ensuring that all meals are nutritious, appealing, and prepared to the highest standards. This role requires strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional food service to young children.
Key Responsibilities:
*Plan and prepare a diverse range of healthy and balanced meals in accordance with school nutrition guidelines.
*Manage the catering team, providing training, support, and supervision to ensure high standards of food preparation and service.
*Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and dining areas, adhering to health and safety regulations.
*Develop and manage the catering budget, including purchasing ingredients and equipment.
*Liaise with school staff to accommodate special dietary needs and preferences.
*Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety and hygiene legislation.
*Foster a positive dining experience for students, encouraging healthy eating habits.
Requirements:
*Previous experience in a catering management role, preferably within an educational setting.
*Relevant catering qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Professional Cookery or equivalent).
*Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (Level 3 Food Safety Certificate
*required).
*Excellent organisational and time management skills.
*Ability to lead and motivate a team.
*Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
*A passion for providing high-quality, nutritious meals to children.
*Enhanced DBS check.
*Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the school environment.
