Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Cook to join our kitchen team on a part time basis either 1 or 2 days per week.
The ideal candidate does not have to be a qualified Cook but be competent in preparing basic food items, have food safety knowledge and awareness, be able to keep the kitchen clean and hygienic and contribute to the overall success of our coffee shop.
Duties
* Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards.
* Assist in meal preparation, ensuring all ingredients are ready for cooking.
* Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
* Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely service.
* Participate in menu planning and development, offering creative input where appropriate.
* Ensure that all kitchen equipment is cleaned and maintained properly.
* Serve food to customers when required, providing excellent customer service.
* Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant setting.
* Strong culinary skills with a focus on food preparation and cooking techniques.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues.
* A passion for food and a desire to continually improve culinary skills.
