Regional Quality Manager
We are seeking a Regional Quality Manager for a Tier 1 contractor based in Berkshire. The company is one of the most successful privately owned contractors in the country, with Southern operations based near Reading and an annual turnover exceeding £1 billion.
The company targets schemes valued between £20 million and £90 million on frameworks, along with long-term repeat business with clients. They also pursue single-stage regeneration and development projects up to £150 million, including large schools, multi-phase education schemes, student accommodation, PRS developments, high-rise office and residential buildings, distribution hubs, and large retail and leisure developments.
Role Responsibilities
1. Provide quality and systems support throughout all project phases: bid, preconstruction, on-site delivery, commissioning, and warranty periods.
2. Manage the company's quality plan and ensure compliance with legal obligations, external manufacturer requirements, and supply chain quality systems.
3. Conduct on-site quality checks with delivery teams and subcontractors.
4. Audit and maintain NCR registers and reporting procedures, ensuring adherence to best practices.
5. Update and maintain the regional quality plan, ensuring compliance with ISO standards and industry benchmarks.
6. Investigate latent defects and compliance issues to facilitate continuous improvement.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have a QA/Inspection background within construction or be a construction professional such as a project or site manager with a keen interest in quality and continuous improvement practices.
