The Role

We are on the hunt for a Head of People Services to lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of all people-related operational services across our markets (UK, DK, CH, USA). This role ensures that employees and managers enjoy a seamless, efficient, and high-quality experience throughout the employee lifecycle.
This is a hybrid role, requiring a minimum of three days a week in our Leeds office.
Key Responsibilities
* Leadership
o Develop and implement a People Services strategy aligned with our People team’s vision.
o Lead, coach, and develop the People Services team across HR operations, onboarding, change management, and more.
o Champion service excellence, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making.
* People Operations & Service Delivery
o Oversee the delivery of consistent, efficient, and compliant HR services across all markets.
o Ensure processes are standardized, scalable, and well-documented.
o Drive the adoption of self-service tools and digital solutions to enhance the employee experience.
* Employee Experience
o Design and maintain a high-quality, standardized employee experience from onboarding to offboarding.
o Monitor service performance through SLAs, feedback mechanisms, and employee insights.
* Systems, Data & Compliance
o Oversee HR systems, ensuring data accuracy, security, and effective reporting.
o Utilize analytics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
o Ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal policies.
* Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
o Work closely with People Directors, Business Partners, and Senior Leaders to ensure cohesive people practices.
o Act as a trusted advisor on operational HR matters.
o Build strong relationships with external partners like payroll providers and technology suppliers.
* Value Add Projects
o Deliver HR system optimization across all markets.
o Implement a role architecture tool with a focus on pay transparency readiness.
o Lead a review of contracts and documentation for standardization and compliance.
o Provide high-quality MI reporting for key stakeholders.
The Person
We’re seeking an ambitious individual with strong HR acumen who can hit the ground running, identify opportunities, and drive real value for PureGym. Here are the core attributes we’re looking for:
* Strong understanding of HR processes, employment law, and best practices.
* Proven ability to lead teams through change and drive operational excellence.
* Expertise in HR systems, data management, and process optimization.
* Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
* Experience in implementing new HR technology or leading service delivery models.
* Experience in multi-site and/or international environments.
* Preferred experience in leading HR operations or shared services in a complex organization.
Required Experience / Qualifications
* 10+ years in a HR/People role, preferably within a shared service/service delivery environment.
* Experience with multiple HR systems across international markets.
* Highly proficient in Excel.
* Experience working with diverse stakeholders in a multi-market organization.
