 
        
        Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council seeks a Mount Pleasant Site Manager (Grade 6, point 12‑17) to operate on a part‑time basis of 34 hours per week, commencing January 2026.
Salary: £26,279 per annum. Holiday: 28 days pro‑rata (to be taken in school holidays) plus bank holidays.
Key Working Hours (all year round, may vary with school needs):
 * Monday 06:15 – 10:15 and 14:45 – 18:15
 * Tuesday 07:15 – 10:15 and 14:45 – 18:15
 * Wednesday 07:15 – 10:15 and 14:45 – 18:15
 * Thursday 07:15 – 10:15 and 14:45 – 18:15
 * Friday 07:15 – 10:15 and 14:45 – 18:15
Responsibilities:
 * Maintain security of the school premises as the main key holder.
 * Ensure cleanliness and general tidiness of all external hard areas.
 * Carry out minor repairs and report defects requiring specialist repair.
 * Inspect electrical fittings and report defects as required.
 * Performs daily cleaning and ad‑hoc duties.
 * Move school furniture safely in accordance with Health & Safety and lifting regulations.
 * Receive and log delivery of store materials and other goods.
 * Follow Head Teacher / Board of Governors instructions on letting procedures.
 * Ensure a safe working and learning environment in line with relevant legislation.
 * Contribute to planning, development and organisation of systems, procedures and policies.
 * Manage the cleaning team on a daily basis.
 * Check heating and control system functions; report defects to a qualified heating engineer.
 * Undertake designated gardening duties: clear leaves, snow, ice and moss, including surface treatment.
 * Maintain cleaning tools and products, ensuring good stock levels.
 * Carry out minor repairs to school equipment.
 * Commit to safeguarding and promotion of the welfare of children and young people.
 * Comply with child protection, health and safety, security, confidentiality, GDPR and equal opportunities policies, and report concerns to the appropriate person.
Qualifications and Experience:
 * Relevant experience in caretaking, building maintenance, security (including alarm systems), cleaning work, supervising a small team and working with contractors.
 * Willingness and ability to start work early when required; on‑call for emergencies; flexible with working hours.
 * Competent at basic building, maintenance and grounds maintenance tasks; ability to use small industrial/electrical/mechanical equipment.
 * Practical skills: understand and comply with written and verbal instructions, organise and supervise others (cleaners, contractors), reading, writing and numeracy for checking delivery notes and lettings forms, ability to operate electrical and mechanical systems.
 * Understanding of health and safety regulations and competency in lifting and handling heavy items.
Additional Requirements:
 * Must provide documentation proving right to work in the UK (no sponsorship provided).
 * Medical clearance and enhanced DBS check required (Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974).
