The Estates Hard FM Team is responsible for the day to day repairs, PPM and operational testing for a wide range of building services and equipment located in the Trust.
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and flexible Head of Estates to manage the PFI Estate at Royal London Hospital site providing operational maintenance services throughout the Trust and its associated properties and sites.
You will be a positive team member with a can-do attitude accompanied with a recognised understanding of the latest HTM’s (Heath Technical Memorandums), conversant with up to date ACOP’s, BS & EN standards & SFG20 Standard Maintenance Specifications as they affect the management of Building Services throughout a frequently complex Health Care environment.
You should be able to demonstrate a clear understanding in the management of statutory compliance as they affect NHS building premises. Areas of compliance would typically be in water hygiene, electrical systems, asbestos and fire management, Medical Gases and HVAC systems.
Ideally you will have proven managerial specialist skills in maintenance and contractor management with the ability to demonstrate clear experience in the management of PFI contract. In particular you will have excellent communicative skills that can articulate issues and problems to senior management in a meaningful way both to clinical and non-clinical members of staff.
You should be able to demonstrate an understanding of financial management within an NHS setting and be able to provide necessary experience obtained in the control of delegated budgets.
This position will require you to participate in the on-call rota which includes out of hours working at all Barts Health Trust sites.
Main duties of the job
The post holder’s role is to manage all aspects of operational estates assets and isprofessionallyresponsibleforthecompletemanagementandperformancemonitoring of Hard FM Services (PFI) across the Royal LondonHospital.
The post-holder will have responsibility for all statutory and regulatory complianceincluding Fire Safety management, Non – Clinical Health & Safety management,Asbestosmanagement,WaterHygienemanagementincludingLegionellaandPseudomonascontrolmanagement,Building,Electrical&Mechanicalservices(specifically trust wide lead for HVAC monitoring and reporting)including MedicalGasservices.
Tomanageandmonitorallcontractedoutservices;particularlymanagingtheperformanceofthePFIHardFMServicesensuringcompliancewithstatutorystandardsandinaccordancewiththeServiceContractSchedules,theagreedmonitoringandreportingstandardsandserviceKPIs.Includingthedeliveryof the sustainabilityagendaandenergyperformance.
