As we expand our operations and work toward achieving UKAS accreditation, we are looking for an experienced Laboratory & Quality Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in our growth.
Job Description
As Laboratory & Quality Manager, you will be responsible for the oversight and delivery of our water testing services, ensuring compliance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standards. Working closely with senior management, you will also contribute to the implementation and ongoing development of our Quality Management System (QMS), helping us achieve UKAS accreditation.
This is a part-time role with flexible working hours, ideal for someone who wants to maintain a strong impact in their field while balancing other commitments. Commission opportunities are available based on performance and contribution to business growth
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and oversee daily laboratory activities related to domestic water testing.
* Ensure all testing is carried out in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standards.
* Lead the development and implementation of the laboratory's Quality Management System (QMS).
* Work collaboratively to achieve and maintain UKAS accreditation.
* Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in testing procedures.
* Provide leadership to the laboratory team, encouraging collaboration and high standards.
* Support staff training and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Liaise with clients and regulatory bodies where necessary.
* Contribute to the strategic growth of PRN Water Services.
Job Requirements
* Proven experience working in a laboratory environment, with strong familiarity with water testing procedures.
* In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standards is essential.
* Experience with implementing or maintaining a QMS in a lab setting.
* Proficient in the use and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a small team.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to work alone/be self-motivated.
* Experience in working toward or achieving UKAS accreditation is highly desirable.
