We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and experienced canteen chef/cook to work in our Head Office canteen kitchen (GU10 5DD). We maintain a very high reputation for our breakfast and lunch facilities for our CISTC construction training courses and keeping our standards high with new and fresh ideas would be ideal for a progressive catering professional.
Responsibilities would include but not exhaustive of:
* To ensure a clean and safe working environment in the kitchen, to keep all kitchen and food preparation areas immaculately clean at all times and to follow the health and safety procedures in place and to maintain all machinery and equipment appropriately in line with completed risk assessments and training
* Overseeing food ordering
* Food preparation of lunchtime and break time sandwiches and refreshments for training course attendees for up to 20 people increasing to 65 during the busy periods
* Preparing hot and cold lunchtime meals and sandwiches for Head Office employees (up to 70)
* Creating and cooking meal plans to include both meat and vegetarian options
* General kitchen maintenance
* Stock control
* Money Handling
* An understanding of current food trends served in deli bars and cafes is desirable
* Strong time management and organisational skills are crucial for this role
* You must be fluent in oral and written English
* A passion for creating nutritional & seasonal meals
* Catering for occasional supplier and company events I,e BBQ's, buffet options

Requirements
* City & Guilds Hospitality and Catering Level 3 or equivalent
* Candidate must have previous experience working in a kitchen/café as a cook or chef
* Must be friendly, reliable, approachable and self-manage this small kitchen

* Able to multi-task, comfortable working alone and work well under pressure
* You must be enthusiastic, professional and passionate about food
* Driving Licence and access to a vehicle to commute to work
