The Opportunity

We are now hiring a Backend Software Engineer to take ownership of core backend systems and play a key role in building a resilient, high-performance platform. This role offers the chance to work in a fast-paced startup environment, solving complex technical challenges while shaping the future of our product.
The What
* Backend Ownership – Design, build, and optimise backend systems with a focus on scalable infrastructure and robust database design.
* Collaboration – Partner with a London-based platform team to deliver new features and infrastructure improvements.
* Core Engineering – Contribute directly to backend engineering (Python, SQL) and TypeScript projects.
* Innovation – Apply knowledge of lower-level languages (C, Rust) to improve performance and efficiency.
* Impact – Deliver reliable, scalable systems that directly drive product growth.
The Who
We’re looking for an engineer who brings:
* 3–8 years’ experience in backend software engineering.
* Strong expertise in Python, SQL, and TypeScript.
* Experience working in startups or high-growth tech environments.
* Bonus points for experience with C or Rust.
* A passion for learning, demonstrated expertise in a chosen field, and curiosity that extends beyond day-to-day work.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain why as well as what.
