Join to apply for the Food Technologist role at Cardiff Metropolitan University.
Responsibility for delivering technical support to the food manufacturing sector in Wales via Welsh Government funded projects, and the UK Food Industry via the Food Industry Centre mechanisms. The role offers the opportunity to transfer knowledge to and from the FIC technical team, food manufacturers, and stakeholders.
You’ll lead the way by:
1. Being responsible for delivering and disseminating food safety and quality best practice knowledge to a wide range of food manufacturing businesses, and for the continued development of food manufacturing organisations in Wales and beyond, as required.
2. Identifying key food safety and quality shortfalls in industrial partners’ operations through gap analyses and internal audits.
3. Implementing a rigorous and robust project delivery mechanism (from project enquiry to project closure) for all technical projects delivered by the FIC under the guidance of the Technical Manager(s).
4. Writing, reviewing, and updating policies, procedures, and monitoring systems, compliant with FIC Quality Management Systems (e.g., BRC and SALSA), to ensure safety, legality, and quality of products.
