There is an exciting opportunity to join Bellway, one of the UK’s largest house builders. Our Eastern Counties Division is looking to recruit a Site Manager for a development located in Barleywoods, Oakham, Rutland, LE15 6RU.
The Role
The Site Manager reports to the Construction Manager and is responsible for managing all aspects of a construction site, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective work while maintaining high quality and customer service within specified timescales.
Principal Responsibilities
1. Manage the daily operations of the development and provide clear direction to site staff.
2. Implement and oversee health and safety procedures in collaboration with Bellway’s Health and Safety Managers.
3. Motivate, support, and manage site staff, including conducting toolbox talks, training, and coaching.
4. Maintain site presentation standards.
5. Deliver production requirements according to technical and planning documentation.
6. Ensure compliance with building regulations and warranty providers’ standards (NHBC, LABC).
7. Maintain accurate site records, including progress reports, labour, plant, materials, and safety records.
8. Inspect and ensure remedial work is completed before each NHBC key stage inspection.
Experience and Qualifications
* Experience as an Assistant Site Manager or Site Manager with a high-volume residential builder.
* Effective team management skills.
* Up-to-date knowledge of health and safety and building legislation.
* GCSE Maths and English – Grade C or above (or equivalent).
* Valid CSCS card at Site Manager level (or equivalent).
* Valid SMSTS, First Aid certificates.
* Desirable: Construction Management qualifications (HNC Level 4, HND Level 5, NVQ Level 6), Scaffold Appreciation, LOLER certificates.
