What you'll be doing:
The overall purpose of this role is to organise and supervise the unit according to Compass Group UK & Ireland standards, contract specifications, and statutory regulations. You will be responsible for the efficient management of the unit, ensuring a quality service, overseeing food preparation, cooking, and service to standards, and making optimal use of resources including stock, team members, and assets.

* Providing strategic guidance and managing the business through your team

* Taking responsibility for food and health and safety procedures in the college catering department
* Engaging regularly with the bursar, headmaster, and academic staff
* Implementing action plans based on satisfaction surveys
* Promoting the unit and representing Chartwells/Compass
* Ensuring hospitality standards are met and seeking feedback
* Being present during meal times to ensure quality and enjoyment
* Identifying opportunities for service enhancement and innovation
* Monitoring budgets and trends, and taking corrective actions as needed
* Delivering customer requirements to expectations
